INTERNATIONAL SUMMER LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

Kindi Education’s International Summer Leadership Academy is a three-week leadership program for 14 to 17-year-old English speakers from around the world. A typical week at the Academy is a balance of skills workshops and leisure time. Weekday mornings are spent learning 21st Century Skills in over 50 hours of dynamic workshops. Afternoons, evenings and weekends are devoted to taking part in a range of exciting sports, cultural visits and challenging adventure activities.

OVERVIEW

21st Century Skills

Each morning students take part in innovative workshops to develop important 21st Century Skills with instructors, expert coaches and guest speakers. Using these skills, students work in teams to create a roadmap for helping navigate teen life. At the end of the Academy students apply their learning and reflect on their 3-week experience to produce a personal plan for their future career, life and wellbeing. Reflection skills are learned via guided discussions of topics that include stereotypes, money and fake news.

Leisure Activities

Afternoons, evenings and weekends are packed full of adventure activities. From sports and games to sightseeing and cultural visits, there’s something to suit every taste! Students also have access to a dedicated social space that provides English books, e-magazines, board games, and tablets for accessing the internet safely. Visits to parks and gardens are perfect for unwinding and enjoying the great outdoors.

PROJECT BASED LEARNING

Over the three weeks students will work in small groups to create a roadmap for helping navigate teen life. For inspiration and guidance in the creation of their roadmaps, students will interview inspiring young people, visit experts in the workplace and critically analyze research. The project culminates in groups presenting their roadmaps, in the format of their choice, to a real audience of young people in the local community.
